Day started gloriously big sunny and cold. Light early crowd, light mid morning crowd, light late morning crowd, even less of a crowd early afternoon. Nice early grooming, but Lucky and IceFerkberg got pretty scrapped quickly. So PB was the early option, nice but choppy up top, lots of rocks on one of the main top entries, but after paying attention the second time around rocks were not a problem and even easier later. Tried out Hamburger once, the big traverse was pretty easy out, but since I was solo it didn’t require a second trip. Based on reports and fringe areas I touched it got pretty sun baked on the south slopes early yesterday, so I never suffered any of them. GV bowl skied pretty nice packed cold snow, and when I was social lower GV skied nicely. Sadly the day slowed down as the clouds puffed up around noon and the temps dropped. By 1pm the crowds were bailing and so did I…beat my daily season avg, but more sun would have been nice for a lot more fun.
Other – Soup at CB lodge was the Triple C (ChickCocoCur), big bonus was the CHICKEN NOODLE in the Bull Wheel when I passed through on the way out, very good with a Crystal Ale beer, party was starting to gear up and it looked like it would have been nice to hang out…Pay lot was not full (of pay lot folks anyway), one bus, C lot seemed to be pretty full, and B was over half full – don’t really know where all those folks were. So other bonus I guess it that I’m sitting here watching the Mariners trounce the Rangers…oh wait a minute, it’s the other pro sports teams – Go Hawks!
