Jill and I started skiing before 9am on the Central Express lift. The Silver Express lift started a bit later. The new Silver Lodge is not open yet but looks nice from the outside. The top third of the terrain was foggy but the groomed tree lined trails had great coverage. Outback trail is groomed top to bottom. Silver Nugget had one part groomed. The coverage on the groomers was good and the last 100 yards was a bit wet. We also skied Alpine which has good coverage and the groomer part was nice. We skied for and 1 hour and a half and the temperature was rising a bit. There was a slight covering on your googles but not bad. We heard the Summit East opens on Saturday but drove down to look. We decided to miss the opener. Coverage is light and the brush on Hyak Face is not worth for us to ski. Hopefully, the backside has better coverage.

Just to add to this:
I went to Alpental this AM and found the snow conditions to be quite good - not just a relative term for this season, either. A bit of buried ice in places, but a world of improvement from a week ago. Nash has a little ice on the entry area, but otherwise great. Breakover was very good. Had to work so missed the Snake Dance opening. The lower areas are groomed and filled in nicely. The mid/upper mountain will be well-tracked by tomorrow. Sorry!
FYI beacon park not open yet.
Made one stop at Central on the way home just to check out the park. Week prior it was metal on death ice. Today, very welcoming. More features and forgiving exits. Way better coverage down on Central.

Somehow we missed you Zap. We parked at silver fir did a bunch of runs till it got sloppy then went to yurt to get our Senior terrain park pass so we wouldn't get pinched!
Anyway, enjoyed our brown bag lunch in old silver fir shack (maybe for the last time)
Left for home at noon. Catch ya next time
