The spring-like conditions of the last week or so gave way to cooler temperatures and overcast skies today. Anything that had been sun exposed was frozen into place so that resulted in a day of skiing Green Valley and the excellent grooming of Lucky Shot and Ice Ferkberg. Green Valley is getting firmer, but still skis well with the far right side of the bowl being the best and almost smooth styro snow the bottom half. Due to the very low crowds, Ice Ferkberg held up well all day and may not be groomed over night. Once again, C6 was closed and Northway open. I bet the lift op at the bottom of Northway saw maybe two people today. Given what we were skiing, no rocks today and the good skis are happy.
To add some variety, actually went in for lunch and had an excellent BLT and Sierra Nevada pale ale. I'll let DDK provide the soup report.

And the Rest of the Story – Chopped up my outdoor X-Mass tree to get it into the recycle bin….oh wait a minute this is a ski report! Sorry. Cant add a lot to CD about the skiing, some flat light at times, skiing the GV bumps fun as usual, Ann’s run very nice down Valley low, also do to Ms CD checking out West Face area randomly once, we all agreed that it skied nicely also. SnortElk Bowl also typically good. Crowds and lift lines not there – though I seem to remember riding a lot of full quads on REX and GV, more than all season, but that might have been actually being nice an social. Rocks popping out on MidIceFerkBerg (pick one up every time you pass through – please) and it was not as soft as recently, but still skied nicely with the light traffic. As noted HC not running again! Dang! Double Dang! Oh well, it would have been hard to get the “new” 2014 minumum CD vert if we had gone up chair 6. Today was another day that any weather forecasts I don’t really pay attention to didn’t predict – a lot less sun, more high overcast, early arrival of grey front, no Rainier donut hole, cooler than expected…Pretty much just another random day on slopes. But Rainier was pretty impressive in the white and black look, plus the crevasse are huge and stand out with no snow on them – kinda looks like July. Extra glad I went yesterday to get the “hopefully” last spring day for a while – though some of the long range forecasts still look marginal.
Other – BIG NEWS soup at CB lodge was CHICKEN NOODLE and it was very good. It might last for the next day or two based on crowds. Pay lot (?), rest of A lot full, with a little overflow into C, not much else. Off to see the Hobbit movie tomorrow…
