12,000' freezing level in january was not a silly lie fabricated by our local weather guys.
the rays shined bright and once again the snow morphed from bone to corn and back all in a days work.
follow the light and you'd be alright up top but don't stray too far off the beaten path.

soup was coffee but sam did have pizza and chili and fries, just like the old days.

saturday, the herd has thinned, a blanket of hoar covered the slopes but not to be deterred were 5,000 little ones. decked out in every color imaginable, huge grins on faces ready to take on the day.

not to take out one of the little buggers slipping around the mountain while i too sought out the sun baked corn to slip on.

heli activity in the valley had sar and sheriff busy in lot 4, evac appeared to head east.

sunday; even thinner herd on the hill which makes for a fun weekend when the snow is soft, which it did on cue @ 10:30. after a few days grooming a route i've got the front side dialed in.

yesterday the mountain weather system took a favorable turn back to the pnw.
the herd remains thin,............for now.
having a quick and efficient means to travel to the top of Denny has been wonderful.
splatter snow stuck to every surface above 3k.

the month finished on a winters note with cold enough temps to bring in a couple feet of snow.
quietly near noon elevator opened, looking much different then it did last spring.
