Daily week day report - No new snow, so probably not a big day for most folks, no crowds on MLK day, lots of sun from the start, lots of early morning high speed groomers on the sunny slopes (well MiddleIceFerkBerg anyway), lots of nice firm packed carveable styro something or other on the shady slopes (GV upper bowl, SnortElk Bowl, PB), lots of big views everywhere from Baker to Hood, lots of Hawaii shirt conditions (talked to a couple from Maui, they approved the shirt), no lift lines all day – maybe it was another nice BIG Monday on the slopes. Rocks popping out a little more on top of HC – but easily stepped over, some rocks starting to pop out at the bottom of IceFerkBerg – but not to bad. Did a couple of runs on SunnySide during the “right” part of the day and it was fun. Did one run down BearPits’s and maybe when I was there it was already passed its prime. Heard of folks skiing Northway and not saying anything to impressive. But for us it was a Fun day – what’s new about that.
Other – Soup CB lodge was Loaded Potato (kinda wonder what it tastes like?). Taco Truck and Shish-ka-bob shack in full operation today ( and apparently all weekend). Even got that fire pit burning big flames (think its to high, I like the pits at Alpental a lot better). Heard the crowds really were not to bad over the weekend and it was nice and sunny and warm and not Puget Sound pea soup. Pay lot was really big when we arrived and there were two new rows in front of us when we left – plus a still not full pay lot. C lot seemed pretty full, B lot maybe half full, so there must have been a few folks around. Great day – or maybe just another marginal sunny spring day in January – definitely a fun hamster kinda day.
