I have not been to Snowbasin for 14 years (since before the Olympics), and the mountain is now a huge resort.  The Olympics in 2002 made the resort with new lodges, restaurants, gondolas and many snow making machines.  The east facing terrain has 2 top to bottom gondolas, plus 2 quads and 4 triple chairs.  My last day in 2000 was on the Downhill run and my previous day was off Strawberry Peak and Sisters Bowl with 18” of UT powder.  That was 14 years ago!  This week Jill and I had 2 sunny, packed powder days. The mountain is covered with trails with snow making machines.  We had free tickets from our Timberline Fusion (Powder Alliance) pass. The trip from Ogden took 25 minutes to the mountain.  Allen Peak is at 9465’ and the base is at 6450’.  Even though the snowpack in UT is still light, the snow making capability made the mountain a fun place to ski, with ridges and great steep terrain which is easily accessible
