Nice sunny day, didn’t seem as warm as yesterday (but just checked the telemetry and it says something different than what I thought I was experiencing – thought the might have been a little more wind on REX and seemed cooler), took longer for the front side to soften and the top of Sunnyside did not get anywhere close to fun. Early groomer was LuckyShot today, fast and smooth. PB was still good and getting better as it gets more traffic. MiddleIceFerkBerg did get soft, but not all the way to blast everything soft – might have been do to increased traffic skidding out the troughs. Did one run down BP’s about the time I thought it would be close to prime, was skiable, but variable, never perfect and I managed to have my biggest explosion fall – lucky everything worked out and the both my skis either came to me or I could see – was definitely a wake up fall. Spent the rest of the day staying away from BP’s, doing mostly Valley/IceFerkBergs or lower Sunnyside. Pretty much full on lazy hamster in a treadmill skiing.

Other – Managed to get the last of the pot Chicken Noodle at CB lodge during the early lunch hour ( noticed they had Artesian Chicken Noodle at the base lodge – looked good). No lift lines but there were folks on the slopes. Pay lot and bus lot big early, both didn’t make the half way full when I left, Cars down into the C lot with a few rows in B. Another nice big sunny day on the slopes. A few more rocks on top of HC, but really good coverage everywhere else I went – which was a pretty small slice of Crystal in the middle. Almost looking forward to a lazy day off.

48 degrees and deeply frozen junk for the first couple hours. So, speed runs ensued before Luckyshot (groomed today) grew people. GPS said 68mph, and that was fast enough. Took a long time to soften and never softened the underlying ice once skidded off. Powder Bowl left chute entry and center lower were good, Campbell not so good. The Frontside went from nasty ice, to OK, to deep slop really fast. Best run was north side of Green Valley Bowl to lower Memorial for many afternoon laps. Stood at the top of Paradise Bowl as they dropped the rope and skied away because it looked terrible. It quickly crunched up after 2:00. Rocks were growing but avoidable today; won't be after weekend crowds and continued warm temps.
