Second hand email report , I’m sure I had you’all wondering? Two ski areas in the same day? – all the Italic’s are my cant resist comments, what’s new with that? The rest are from Mr CD.….Mr CD - The mountain is skiing good. The morning was taken up with LS groomers, GV ferkbergs, and a couple runs in BP and OF. Also made one run down PB. GV was it's usual goodness and Ferkberg was very skiable even though it hadn't been groomed for a couple days. I hope they groom it tonight as it got pretty skied out by the end of the day with a few rocks starting to show in the middle of the bottom funnel. OF and BP were fun, but not as good as Monday. The big disappointment was PB. Firm and kinda chunky (needs more snowboarder grooming! Please!). It was OK, but not as good as the last month. The top coverage is a striking contrast to the last time I was up there. The rocks in John's chute ( I don’t know that run) are completely covered and the top coverage good (actually great). NW was closed for some reason (rumor I heard was Friday, lack of participation and the accountants are maybe starting to look at the numbers – same for how many pro patrol are on the mountain on a given day – not many).
The front side softened at noon and skied really well until 2 when it started to firm. All the usual suspects.
I had a chicken parm sandwich for lunch in the CB lodge that was way too big. Lori got a really good BLT. Soup was loaded bake potato (thank-you!)
No rocks to worry about. Another good day on tap for tomorrow.
Other info - On another note, I can't believe they charge $300/night normal price for these rooms (Alpine Inn?). They're barely worth the $100 we paid. (parking?)
