Crystal - 01/14

Late for me, long winded report (normal) - Big day? Maybe not, very nice day? Definitely!   Started with an easy drive up, arrive into the A lot with way to much space for the pay lot!  Jumped onto CHex right after the 10 chair rush was over.  Looked right and noticed that MiddleIceFerkBerg was nicely groomed – so that with GV bowl was the first couple of runs…Then HC called – hhhhmm lights say its open, bunch of folks still standing in line waiting.  Do a lap on FQex and then no line on HC.  Sadly today it was running painfully slow even for me.  Jumped into PB, nice but wind packed impacted, not the place to let your skis wander, so back to REX.  Bearpits, Doors, and mostly SunnySide plus a few shoulder runs in MiddleIceFerkBerg.  Time to check the soup at CB lodge and hopefully a quick run up HC – not! Still running slow (derail maybe potential rumor?) PB skied better, more traffic, will get awesome by the end of the week with more folks skiing.  BP’s still fun and stay away type skiing.  Back to REX!  Hhhhhmmmm, who is that in front of me….Aaahhh, my fav female ski patrol lady free skiing – Michele.  Spent the next couple of hours chasing her and trying to stay in front of her from Breakover to MiddleIceFerkBerk – OUCH!  Thought it was tuff to keep up with Mr Ferk…..but he is kinda nice to me and will sometimes pause….not Michele – she was on a mission with limited time – THANKYOU Ms.M!   Fun beat up the hamster kinda of day.  Was getting sun soft on the front side and was noticeably firming up when we finally had to quit. Early high overcast went to nice warm sun to big bubbles blowing off of Rainer.  Pretty nice day, especially with the drugs I got yesterday to clear up my brain.

Other – Soup at CB lodge was Mr Jimbo’s fav, CCC (chick, curry, coconut). No crowds, no lift lines, not many folks in the pay lot (like normal), three buses, a few cars parked into the C lot and some in B lot.  Ms. M helped work South opening and was not happy skiing out at ThreeWay. Upper exposed areas did get wind impacted over the last few days, don’t know how awesome it was in Damn Fine Trees – or anyway out south down low.   Looks like Stevens tomorrow…

Little different color - and not so faded. But the one I know does have a FP. I do get a lot of flak about that FB...and the soup.
