We were driving to Brighton and there was a road sign for “4WD or Chains”.  I usually put on chains, but this time we stopped at the bus stop and after a long wait caught the bus for $2.50 a person. The bus to Brighton was late and got to the area at 9:30am where we got our free Boyne lift tickets.  The Great Western lift was delayed due to avy work.  When it opened, we saw all the “rocks” in the upper terrain. The boarders were on some powder lines and you could see a lot of brush and rocks. We have skied at Brighton in late February and March when the area had received 400 inches of snow. Their snowpack is low compared to our last trip. There was rock in expert lines and some at intermediate terrain.  We skied at all lifts and the unskied lines were “rock ski” lines.  We remember that our Big Sky days were fantastic with its fresh powder.  It’s now time to move up to Snowbasin.

Thanks for the report, always good to get first hand info. There is a Freeride comp this weekend at Snowbird and the snow pack just is not what they need.
