People driving down at 7:50 had us spooked as we topped The Boulevard. Blasting wind in the parking lot added to our worries. Blue spots in the clouds and no rain, 35 degrees, gave us hope so we stuck it out. Glad we did. Chinook was 1/3rd speed, but Rex and the Frontside were nearly wind free. Perfect packed pow skied excellent and we had our work cut out to use it up, as there was hardly anyone on the hill. Memorial to Bear Pits skied awesomely. Six was closed, but Northway opened for a while. Nice snow, but a blasting wind up Flyin' Floyd's slowed the chair to a too-long-to-sit speed, so we bailed. C-3 had good snow, but short run, and it was back to the Frontside. Excellent snow, no people – a day enjoyed skiing the runs claimed by rocks over a month ago. At 1:30, warm fog coated our goggles and closed the day. An excellent day. Below Rex it was wet and packing hard, a preview of tomorrow. Warm temps later in the week will be great.
