Last night was 2-8" windblown floaty goodness. Today I'm riding10-12", drying out goggles in the car after a full morning of heavy pow mustache shots; best lift day of the season.

Can confirm that today was an excellent gongshow atop Hwy 2. I headed-up Sat. night after the big, local sportsball game for some free refills under the lights and was not at all disappointed, esp. when I lucked into first chair on Skyline at 20:40 - it'd been on "maintenance hold" all day as the top terminal was coated in over an inch of ice and the haul rope had to be de-iced before the chairs could grip it. Three laps in the howling winds and sideways snow were all I could manage before I retreated to Tye Mill for some nice, protected boot-top turns until close.
Dirtbagging has its advantages and I found myself on Skyline's first chair again at 8:40 this morning after a cozy night in the back of my Subaru. Nothing topped first chair on 7th Heaven, though the hat trick of untouched lines I found in the usual places around Tye Mill were great and after spending quite some time waiting to load Southern Cross before lunchtime I was pleased to find the trees off of Big Chief untouched. It only took a dozen total laps before my legs were cooked and my gear was soaked and I bailed not too long after they reopened the highway to the west. Was shocked to see the temps go from 29F at 8am to 35F at 2pm, but even more shocked at the folks doing 25mph downhill in the rain when the only snow on the road was in the middle and on the shoulders. When did Western Washingtonians stop putting the warrior in weekend warrior?
