Crystal 1/10

Well the Sun did come out, I was hoping for storm skiing, but settled for skiing in the Sun.............I rocked GV and found good skiing just about in every line, North facing stuff still the best, I took a run over to get on 6 but the line looked too long or my legs too cooked. I 'll save the legs for storm skiing on Sunday.   Or I'll go out to Alpy with the son and dig some pits and get some beta on the backyard playground by Chair Pk.
We need snow or a real BIG Snow Party. (Rainier did have a very big summit cap on it all day)

I saw the patrol Boss man at the bottom Rex, looking fit and happy. Nice work getting South Dialed in fast.  Think Snow!

Just adding to EB.  Yea, it sure was a nice surprise having Sun till about noon, then the fog rolled in.  The traverse out to The Throne was about a grade D with lots of rocks at the beginning and then more towards the end. However the skiing on Hamburger was fairly good. The top of 6 heading to Powder Bowl sucked. Just way to many rocks and ice patches. Once through that it skied nice. Windblown, Leftover pow, soft piles, not bad for this year. Chair 6 was running real slow and the lifty did not know why. Tried BP once, skiers left, Just to scraped with big troff moguls to make me want to repeat.  Sunny side top third was good, mid scrapy, bottom ok if you pick the right line. The usual GV lines skied well. Snorting elk required some route choosing.  Lines were manageable to none. Used real skis, not rock skis and survived. All in all we both were glad to have gone.

This is an improvement (using real skis, that is). If you exit right at top of 6 and side-step up to the PB crown at the ski patrol hut, then I believe that path to PB's west ridge is the least rocky.
