Pretty nice day all and all. Day started with filtered grey sun as the leading edge cloud band blew through, went to full on nice sun, then some this and that clouds hanging around to the west with some very light snow flacks during the late morning. Enough heat to soften the south facing slopes by 11am. First run down Lucky was not that great, then a tense first run in PB to check out conditions – entertaining getting down off the top, but pretty sweet in the center lower ¾ of the bowl. Spent a while in the easy fun zone of GV – main bowl and West Face, plus many Ann runs, got everything loose and working. #1 went to lunch around 11:30, so I did a couple runs out Hamburger way – nice snow when you get there and after the first run the second was easier to get there. PB was a lot better the second time around. Then back to easy life on REX and GV. Finished a short day with runs down soft IceFerkBerg, Sunnyside and then when I got a tip from a ski patrol friend, my first run down BearPits this season - Pretty nice but will get better over the next few days as it gets skied out. Finished with one last Sunnyside as the temps dropped the sun disappeared into the clouds and the precip finally started to arrive from the north, upper mountain was snow.
Other – CB lodge soup Loaded Baked Potato, base lodge soup Clam Chow. No lift lines. The loading area in GV has finally been filled in by a Cat – nice flat area with lift lines like normal. Pay lot was normal big and pretty normal not full. Rest of A lot, C lot and to the shuttle load in the B lot full of cars when we left. At 2pm it was raining at the base. Twas as usual a fun day.
