Just realized it was a Friday the 13th - lucky I did not hurt myself - here is the wordy long report from today: Big Powder day Frenzy! Well maybe only a little frenzy since it was only a tenth of the last snow fall…but it was still nice and new and fun to slide through. Arrived earlier than the rest of this week – ended up in the third row? But quick change, and the Gondy was already loading before 9am, some folks there, decided to get my first CHex ride of the year – quiet and lonely (nice). Next load REX? What the new gates are set up and working – yes they actually work. They will be perfect on a busy weekend in January or when you can ski around the uphill side of the bottom of REX from Sunnyside, but right now it just means a little more un-needed exercise to get through them – after much grief and a little bribery I got a special line! So, how was the skiing? Pretty nice for only 2 or so inches. Skied nicely, especially in all my fav unrocky lines. Bumped into a Fireman and spent most of the rest of the day chasing him on repeated PB runs – very nice and smooth with the new and had some of the best vis during most of the day. Finally decided to take some easy GV and REX runs at a slower pace…extra workout bonus! Bumped into Mr Ferk coming out from lunch break and spent the rest of the day chasing him all over – so much for a easy break. Sunnyside, GV Bowl, another PB run. Fun fun fun. Was some snow falling early today, somewhat damp, but most of the day was decent vis and good conditions….that massive 2” new will be a little lumpy tomorrow if the cats don’t drive around much tonight.
Other – Soup at the base was not Chick Noodle, it was the bottom of the pot “Killer Pepper Jack Broc” – okay got to try it, was good, and it was still pretty tasty by the time I got home (but I was getting tired of it). Parking lot looked pretty full all the way down to the first part of C lot (except for the typical pay lot).
