Aaaahhhh….kind of a Goldilocks kinda day! Just enough sun, just enough nice warmth, just enough nobody on the slopes! Very nice. Arrived at 8:40 to a front lot spot, jumped into an empty bucket at 8:58 after the line disappeared(?). Lots of good vis today after the last two days of not much. So headed straight to PB…lots of rocks getting off the top, variable packed/unpacked/firm/not firm snow top skier right down to just below the upper rock bands, from there down it was pretty almost wind smooth firm snow – don’t fall now cause it would be a fast ride to the bottom. After that I went back to the lazy easy carveable world of REX and GV. Got sucked into GV bowl multiple times just cause it looked and skied so nicely and then down IceFerkBerg – where the bumps were just right, the rocks could be skied around and it was all fun….Then the lift opp at the bottom of REX (Shawn) asked me how the frontside was – hhhhmmm, don’t know….so the next big time period was skiing nice sunny soft carved up (my work the last week or so) Sunnyside runs – thanks Shawn. Spent lunch with Colin (GV lift opp) during his lunch (half hour), racing around – first person I rode a lift with. Got lucky to chase the Fireman (Mike) for an hour or so on Sunnyside during the mid afternoon (1 to 2 ish) last big bang, what a bonus work out getting the last of the soft almost spring snow. Sunnyside and IceFerkBerg might not be so nice early tomorrow (?).
Other – CB lodge beer selection is pretty nice this year – but no food again today, the heater seems to be working pretty good. Gates on HC seem to be working still. Soup at the base was “Killer Pepper Jack Broccoli” again. Got a promise for some Chick Noodle sometime Friday through the weekend. Pay lot was full late with folks that don’t have permits, rest of A lot was kinda almost maybe half full. Heard the groomers on FQex were pretty nice. All in all a pretty big nice day – my kinda beat up the legs in the hamster treadmill kinda day! Pow?
