Another day, another different day, started relatively warm and pretty foggyish with some freezing mist on the goggles early, plus the extra bonus of my pretty sore quads. But as is the typical case, I managed to find places with good vis and nice snow and the quads started working (and the freezing mist went away). Best vis area today was GV Grubstake area to the bottom of the Valley. I hadn’t skied a lot in the Valley since REX and HC started running, but the snow pack is pretty nice in the valley, a lot less rocks since the big dump a week ago, packed carveable bumps – my favorite. Temps seemed cool, so puffy gloves all day, but not much wind and enough good skiing to keep plenty warm. Kind of a lonely day on the mountain – mostly lift opp’s and me harassing them! Never made it up chair 6 since PB always looked like a white out – even though heard again what I already was aware of – nice smooth packed snow. GV Bowl was the same when I got the opportunities to ski it, very smooth nice carving fast snow.

Other – Soup at the base was “Killer Pepper Jack Broccoli” (sounded good anyway, better then Cheddar Broccoli). Pay lot pretty typical, rest of A lot was maybe? Sort of half fullish almost maybe? Other thing I noticed yesterday was the new CHex type gates at the bottom of Chair 6 were set up and actually working – will be interesting when there is a glut of folks down there on a busy day.

Putting RFID readers on every lift seems kind of silly. No one is going to freebie High Campbell runs by skinning up or whatever.

The only legit reason for it would be something Crystal hasn't announced yet: enabling vertical feet tracking again. But, between now and the last time Crystal had a vert-based system, most people that DO care about daily vert feet have got dedicated personal devices/systems already, like altimeter watches or phone apps. These devices do a much better job of logging multiple trips to multiple places than would anything Crystal website tied to your RF code could offer. So ... seems kind of silly.

Gates are pretty expen$ive .

Thanks - really appreciate the reports. Planning to easy ski Thursday. Just want to make sure it is not raining up there.
