Might have miss posted todays report...so here is another try?
Monday morning #1 Spouse (really only one now) wants to ski and check out her new boots!...Looking at early morning telemetry not so positive for me, so drive up, pretty noticeably warmer in the parking lot – front row at 8:15. Jumped into a bucket sometime late after 9 with some K2 folks up for a big test day – very interesting ride up since #1’s new boots are the all mountain woman’s boot. Get to the top, kinda grey windy right at the top. After a lazy play it safe Lucky run (nice all in all), I started hamster running my ski line on Sunnyside – good vis to start and got better for a few hours (almost sun bright) no rocks, just nice little brushy things to use as slalom gates – fun. Kept getting warmer and warmer, finally got rid of the big puffy gloves – very nice. Heard big things about PB, so did a lap there, good quality (except for lots of rocks getting off the very top, some side stepping), got lucky with good enough vis and smooth wind packed something – wasn’t worth a repeat today, but maybe tomorrow. Since CB lodge only had beer and candy bars (plus nice warm heat) headed to the base to find #1…kinda empty and lots of food hawkers trying to sell what food was available. Early afternoon things got a little greyer and colder, but #1 kept going for one more, mostly Lucky Shot bump line for me – great work out day on nice firm carveable bumps! I do like that stuff – no Powder? Darn! Ha Ha! Maybe some pow later this week.
Other – Soup at the base was Onion (looked pretty good). Pay lot was pretty typically empty, rest of A lot was maybe? Half full? Snow flaks were falling during the day, some kinda nasty freezing mist on the goggles, especially on our last run to the base. Did my part picking up a lot of rocks left by the cats on the run out to the bottom of REX (everyone could try to help once in a run or two). Winds were mostly blowing only on the ridge tops and up valley at the base late. Fun day, more to come.
