The bbbbrrrrrrreeeee report. Drove up not expecting much based on early morning telemetry/temps/winds in Enumclaw (howling), but drove through Greenwater – winds not to bad, parking lot winds not to bad at 8:45, Gondy running – winds must not be to bad. Jumped into a nice social bucket a little after 9am, filtered sun on the mountain, winds only bad right at the top for the next couple of hours. So got some Lucky Shot bump runs (skier right side for the non groomer types) early to wake up and then started doing the typical hamster runs on Sunnyside – relatively warm, wind not to noticeable, managed to stay nice and started pounding in my line, staying away from the rocky world. Around 11 decided to do a Valley run, nice snow, but way to much wind and cold. Okay time to go check out Campbell Basin lodge on its opening day….ouch FQex was running slow (as most chairs and buckets on the mountain – must have not had any PSE juice to run the area), after a slow cold ride, checked out the expensive new pricing and menu items….and back out for a few more runs. By noon the temps and winds and low foggy clouds seemed worse – more winds down lower on the mountain, so bailed out by 1pm with enough vert for a hamster minimum day. Wore more clothes, almost enough, snow was nice and its very nice in lots of places, better than many folks would expect, main ski areas and runs have more than enough coverage.

Other – Soup at CB lodge was Ched Broc – again never ending, prices and options looked pretty typical (more expensive than last year). Pay lot was the usual – but the pile of snow got moved up to the Discovery chair slope (should make some nice skiing). Rest of A lot got almost full, but not all the way. Glad to be in a nice warm house feeding the hummer swarm in my back yard – feeders freezing up in only 6hrs. Try again tomorrow with hopefully less wind (and more power for the lifts) and maybe a little PB.
