Hard tough start today – after big bike ride on Tiger Mt Friday, big hamster skiing bumps day Saturday – checked the cam early today, brain hurts, foggy non view of Rainer, cold windy telemetry, ouch! Half hour later Rainer pops out, temps rising, jump in the truck. Arrived front row A lot at 7:50, cool but sunny, fair winds blowing the cloud around. Jump into the first bucket at 8:30, get second tracks down the groomed center of GV bowl – nicely buttery smooth enough to make the world feel good…So hamster mode kicked into gear after that. Did one run out SnortElk, nice in the bowl, but to slow on the runout for me back to GV chair. Never made the run out towards West Face – though I could hear edges carving the early morning ice when I was on the chair. Spent most of my short day skiing from what is normally groomed off the top of GV chair to Grubstake. Various sized bumps from fun easy zipper lines to big dropping freefall cliffs – all fun and pretty much perfect spring go anywhere anytime whenever conditions on the main skied out lines. Seemed a little sticker slower in the flats, which got me off the mountain earlier than yesterday. Rocks are popping out, stumps are showing, dirt is covering more area. It will be more challenging getting around by next weekend – have big fun if you go. Skier crowd was pretty light today, though the few skin showing women were definitely showing! Cooler today but still very nice.

Other – Margaritas’ on top are very good when Nina makes them, views were pretty nice today, crowd was happy, the A lot was pretty full, saw Elk with new ones at the base of the blvd this morning and elk grazing on lower E for the first ride up this morning. This weekend was a great way for me to finish the lift served season – Yes I am actually thinking about letting go and moving on to summer season!

Crystal was just as fun today as yesterday. Saw a couple of elk under the gondy. Chill and windy to start, but the wind died down in the Vallee Verte really soon and we just kept a-cycling. Main GV, out in the pink alongside, lower Grubstake, Marmot meadow out between Snorting Elk and Huckleberry were our routes after a first trip down IceFerk ridgeline. One of the Elk Out routes was starting to look awfully thin and holey so this just might be the last for that side. Afternoon warmth brought out the bikinis and beachwear again. Lighter liftlines of course, but still every chair had 2-4 smiles on each ride up. Sooooo tired after like 15 runs! TomK & Kerry.
