Arrived Monday afternoon to a very nice village evening. Slept in really late jumped into a bucket on Excalibur at 9:50 a few minutes after opening. Big sunny with clouds off to the north and east that never did much on Blackcomb. Very light early crowd, perfect firm groomers with some that still felt like packed powder, pretty fair wind all day kept the day feeling pretty cool, southern facing slopes didn’t really want to soften, but at Blackcomb there is always someplace else. After 7th opened did a run down Secret – nice, after that a nice screamer groomer back down the bottom of Excelarator – that’s pretty big vert drop, other than not being to difficult. Cycle back up – Saudan. Very nice top half, smooth, packed chalk, but then a little chunky down low (lucky that the last two times I did it the bottom was nice spring slush, two of the best conditions in one run. Had time for 7th chair line a few times during its last hour ( 3pm just way to early), nice soft stuff all the way. Finished the day with GearJammer a couple of times and down to the bottom, just barely skiable at the very bottom. Wanted another day of the same, sadly life intervened. Great day, whets new with that?

Other – Soup was everything or at least it looked like it. Ski day is now 10am to as late as you want to finally get to the bottom – last lifts at 4pm. Parking was close, to the room. Conditions are great, very good coverage, heard that the bowls over Spankies where very good.
