Crystal - 04/20

Another sadly challenging day, not enough sun, too much new snow in the last few days that was pretty lumped up off piste, a little to much fog again at times in places limiting options, not enough skier action to help pound out some lines. The two groomers we did were nice and smooth early and had a inch or so new. Both Lucky and IceFerkBerg got nice and soft by the time I left. Only tried to do a few pokes into the off piste areas – not so pleasant. No lift lines (or rather nobody in the lift lines that were set up). Heard good comments about the skiing on FQex early morning. Mid day it looked like the weather might break, bright spots, sun spots, good vis in places (The King had nice sun on it and looked pretty), but it never happened over on the REX side of the mountain. A few light pellet snow flurries late. One big plus was dry conditions so only one pair of gloves today.

Other – Soup was Minestrone AGAIN! Plus Autumn Butternut – heard it was tasty. No heat in CB lodge again today, probably not worth turning on for only one more day. Pay lot was not full on its second to last day, some overflow into about a third of C lot with a few rows in B lot. Didn’t see very many Halloween costumes. Looks like this next week will be some awesome spring skiing finally – at Blackcomb anyway
