No Marketing or bricks of Salt in this report for the last Crystal lift served Friday – wet precip at the base when I jumped into a bucket at 9am, snowing half way up, good vis, but one run down Lucky told me I should stay up high (was snowing to below REX but it was pretty wet snow). So spent the morning doing something I haven’t done in a very long time – hamster running GV lift. Since not many folks around I “carefully” cut line after line in Grubstake Trees to preserve the untracked sections as long as possible. Bunch of new ( 6” ?+) probably heavy and wet snow, easy to carve through it and actually even later in the day when it looked like lumpy nasty bolders (it will not be nice tomorrow). Worked the Valley till my first pair of gloves started to get wet…just in time to go check out the soup of the day at CB lodge (no heat in the lodge till I asked about it, so no extra air to dry out), but the bonus was good vis and less snow falling in the basin. Nice run down untracked deep Cascade wet powder chair line of HC and then dropped into PB which was also pretty nice if you stayed out of the slide boulder fields. Did a number of runs down OuterFerks again today trying to pound it into shape for tomorrow (could have used a little extra help), one run out into BP’s which was still had nice untracked lines between what will be a boulder field tomorrow. Did a run down Memorial which was the same as everywhere else, pick the smooth untracked line and it was pretty nice, cut through the left over cut up snow and it was doable, but tomorrow – ouch! Once I got well past my base minimum for a bad day of skiing (half of CD’s current standard), I decided the second pair of gloves for the day were getting wet and it was quitting time. Finished with a run out Kellys to Lower E – actually pretty nice with good vis, but getting a “little” sticky at the base. Light rain at the bottom when I left with better vis up high than most of the day. The nasty today – just enough good skiers to cut up pretty much everything in sight that was open which will make tomorrow off piste a little more challenging – I did do my part.

Other – Soup, Ministrone again! Dang will it ever run out? Soup number two was Triple C (almost had some while I was trying to dry out my first pair of gloves). Pay lot not full as per the usual, actually cant remember if the rest of A lot was full but I doubt it. Another day on the slopes, the gloves are in the dryer and only two more days of HC. Looks like next weeks weather will be very sad – sunny and warm, sounds like Blackcomb will be the place to be – hhhhmmm.
