No SUCKER holes today, no brick of salt in this report either. Pulled into the parking lot (2nd row) at 8:30, grey overcast, jumped into a empty bucket at 8:50, grey foggyish conditions on the way up. First run down Lucky – bad vis, very firm somewhat marginal grooming (or maybe mostly marginal since I could not really see it), off piste not doable. But every hamster run after the first was better than the last – started to poke a little on the fringes, the vis kept getting better, some light pellet snow falling, scrapped off groomer runs got softer, the x-rays from the faint sun kept baking the slopes and eventually the sun popped out by 1pm and lots of lines became skiable. Best for me today – early Lucky Trees and late in the day upper Memorial into skier right side to lower Sunnyside (kept me on the mountain for one more a lot of times). Heard some complaining early from the “Fireman” about the nasty conditions I made him ski today – sorry! But it did really get better and better, with vis some smooth sections of GV Bowl were pretty nice and actually anyplace you can find that hasn’t been skied in the last couple of days that faces the sun should be very nice (was sorry that I had left a few trenches in some of my fav lines yesterday – dang). Heard some folks had fun out in Silver Basin today and HourGlass and Appliance on the King looked like they will be great lines when someone finally does them. I did a few runs in the Pits – left a face/noise trench lower middle on one of them – maybe even a red trench, but other than that, again if you found the smooth untracked lines it was pretty sweet.
Other – Soup was Autumn Butnut. Bonus from checking the soup report was skiing Frisco and old Chair 5 line – very nice smooth fun and fast with an inch or two of new. Pay lot did not get full as usual, rest of A lot was full with a little overflow – but not much. Never saw a lift line, didn’t see many folks on the lifts actually. Ended up being a very okay day for the hamster – not sure about the fireman?
