Nasty bad day! Arrived in the A lot at 8:25 and jumped into an empty bucket at 8:50 – dang that’s bad. High somewhat broken clouds to start with blue sucker holes – dang. Early crowd didn’t really show up (and the late crowd did not either) – dang. Lots of high speed early groomers till sometime after 10am (with a few pokes into the off piste – not recommended for the weak of heart or ski). Seem to remember a big sun break happening that pretty much sent all the south slopes off into happy muck land. By 11am was doing HC chair line runs, nice and mucky soft, a number of PB runs skier left side (how different that side is, but early today was great), last line in PB was skier right center – just nice enough and probably got better in the afternoon. Big fun stuff – Bearpits and OuterFerks – soft, bumpy, big drops, go anywhere…. Biggest problem today – not enough drivers telling my skis what the next run should be – double dang. Got a little sticky early afternoon, but a cloud system blew through mid afternoon, graying up the skies but also cooling the snow just enough to slow down the sticky snow. AfterShocks were pretty happy today, but I’m thinking Coomba powder skis this weekend skiing perfect mucky spring mush! Lookin forward to a few more sliders helping ski out some lines tomorrow.
Other – Soup was Autumn Butternut Squash – got lots of Chick Noodle comments from the CB lodge employees, lordy they are mean to me. (CD I’m gonna do that recipe this weekend). Parking lots – A pay fullish??? Overflow cars into C lot with no shuttle, cars in B ??? Shuttle ??? Fun day, pick the right wax for tomorrow. PS – pretty much I think everything has been heat impacted, at least where I went today – yee haa after it gets soft
PSS – not a lot of weekday skiing left at Crystal (3 more Fridays maybe)
