Kinda felt like another Goldie Locks kind of day, very light crowd (pulled into the A lot at 8:35, quick change and into the third loading bucket that was empty at 8:50), kinda grey overcast (8k cloud layer) with maybe breaks in the clouds and sun beams at times which just got bigger and bigger as the say went on (when I quit early it looked like full on sun on Crystal Mt). Good grooming made for a few early fast laps. X-rays from the sun did their part in softening the slopes even with the early clouds. Finally started doing the PB hamster runs and it was nice enough to repeat for me, even better in some ways was GV Bowl – easy smooth soft bumps (repeated that a lot) with runs down IceFerkBerk (fast soft and smooth) and Memorial. Thanks to myikat, I finally pushed the edge of my lazy world by hiking the King and doing BrainDamage! Had planned maybe to do it today, he helped showing up at just the right time to make it happen. Thanks for a few nice runs David! BrainDamage was fun, probably not as good as it must have been a few days ago, but it was very nice, steep, narrow, packed pow. So, with that out of the way for this season…. Back to hamster world on REX and GV, no lift lines today and nobody around to pick the next run. Sunny slopes started to soften, but could use a little more traffic for most folks, the AfterShocks were happy today.
Other – Soup was Loaded Baked Potato. Fair crowd in CB lodge when I passed through. The White Chock Macadamia Nut cookie I had was great – thanks Melissa. The A lot got kinda pretty full with a little overflow down the road towards C lot. Vis was good all day, snow was soft. I like spring even when its not perfect blue bird day.
