Nice day, started slow mentally for me, high overcast, cold, fairly light early crowd on the lifts, but the 10:15 crowd did show up (for a while anyway). Sun kept getting brighter all day till it was pretty much full on warm sun – baking those south facing slopes (good for me today – tomorrow?). Dirtbag comp was on HC chairline area – never got to see any of it, HC was having issues today (time of the month?), one of those days where they were leaving empty chairs, fair crowd waiting to ride it – kept me away for most of the morning. Got one good run in PB sometime around mid day – would have been worth many more. Made up for not going there by lots of BP, Doors and the front side of REX runs – Showtime, Sunnyside, Memorial. Did the obligatory run down LeftAngle (EH), I like doing it solo, I can complain to myself and at my own pace. Had fun skiing some runs with Peter (a liftop) and his dad Steve (a TAY poster sometimes), pretty fast runs. Snow quality still great, saw lots of very pretty tracks way out south.

Other – Soup was CCC (chickcocanutcurry). Crowd was relatively big on some lifts, running single solves crowded lift lines. Groomers where big and smooth early (think I only did one). The sound system outside CB lodge for the comp would be perfect for blasting tunes up into the basin kinda like at Alpine Meadows. Pay lot big and pretty dang full, C/B/D/E lots all packed, with cars on the road all the way to E. 4 Buses.

A month sure felt good.  Early parking in A lot at the bridge started off a classic North Western Winter’s day with a 0837 start.  New snow yesterday and three times more the day before, looked to have been epic.  Oh well, we had to be satisfied with mostly cut to shreds stuff with the odd fresh turn, but Kerry did score a favorite slot of firsties like five times.    :-)  Found some fluffy turns in trees that were nice too.  Pole test was 21” total, top 3 of day old, 10 of mashers, a couple of inches of crust and the rest was well consolidated.  Lift lines were quite manageable all day via the singles line with not more than a few chairs to wait.  We had great fun and ended up taking every running lift except Northway, instead smacking Campbell Basin.  Man that top hundred’s a challenge, but the rest is oh so sweet so it’s worth it.  Temps started out chilly in the 20’s and slowly rose to near 30 under an overcast gloom that eventually started to break up a bit with a few shadows a-showin’  On the way out, spotted parking on the street below E, but the mountain absorbed us all so it never felt crowded.  .  Winter Snow, Spring Weather, What More Could You Ask For?  TomK & Kerry

Nice to finally make a few runs with you DDK! I pretty much know what to expect when I ski with Peter during his lunch break since he is trying to pack a full days worth of skiing into a 30 minute break. You set a fast pace on Memorial though which I thought was a little over ripe but I could tell that you were in your element.
I tried to track out the back side all afternoon but each run was better than the last and there were many lines still left at the end of the day.
Great day to be skiing.
