Crystal - 03/21 was created by ddk
Big day, yadda yadda, sameo, sameo – except that it was the best deep pow day since mid December from what I heard. Twas a big early powhound crowd that beat the heck out of everything that was open. Gotta say my first run was a face shot big knee deep run in the Doors into Lucky Trees – worth many repeats for the hamster. Joe-Da-b gave me some good suggestions about where I should go – didn’t take him up on it – don’t want to do other folks runs…so spent the day in my hamster world and had a lot of fun doing it. Only thing that did not open today was South – will be big tomorrow. Pretty much go anywhere kinda day.
Other – Soup was Minestrone. Lift lines where a pain early, except I was solo and got some good single line action. No lines anywhere after NW opened. Big parking lot day – Pay lot really big and almost actually has a lot of cars in it, C lot pretty full and B lot 2/3 full – so it was a big crowd for late season Thursday.

So deep in the BC I wished I'd had a snowbike for the trail breaking.
I think there's been a bit of wind recently......
Huge amounts of wind loading...avy conditions require careful assessment and avoidance of wind loaded features...Be careful.

Day 2 of Spring? BS
The forecast drew quite a crowd and the snow was worthy. Rex's performance, not so much. Once through the stopped chair cluster, it was deep pow everywhere. Six opened and the crowd dispersed. We took the untracked stashes Frontside till we thought the Six frenzy would subside. But Six was creeping and the line still large. One run out Upper K2 was awesome. Timed the Northway opening perfectly for Paradise, Flush Gap and E-Housing. Northway was cranking and handled the line well compared to C6's creeping crawl. Grabbing our secret stashes continued untracked late into the day. No word that Southback opened; will be off the hook tomorrow.

My soup was faceshot pow. We decided the guy setting up Pay Parking is hungover in the morning. This is the 20+ time this year I've bet him 100$ that the pay lot will not fill up (blank stare). He owes me 2,000$.

Good to see ya Dan!
I went over to those runs after talking to you, but N-way just opened-right behind the 1st wave-perfect. Speaking of lots---there was lots of agrotude this morning! Common guys relax a bit, it's skiing! Must be the guys I park next to that pass me on the corners of 410! Tracked out real FAST in most all the standard inbounds. Sun was trying to make it's way out, thank goodness it didn't go full blown. But the slight sunshine settled the snow-don't think there was much sun damage though. But when it comes out bring the butter, because there will be plenty of mash potatoes.

Those guys are some of the hardest working, most abused guys at the mountain. They're also some of the nicest, and it's definitely not their decision on where those cones go. Don't shoot the messenger.

I'm certain you're the only one that ever harasses them about the size of the pay lot and I'm just as sure it doesn't get tedious for them to hear it three or four hundred times a day, hence the blank stare. Can't say I blame them.

Introduce yourself, make friends next time and you might be surprised what happens!

I grief them all the time and have lots of fun complaining, they always seem to be able to put up with me and grief me right back...I really complain in the office, that gets about the same result.
