Different day, different conditions, no marketing in this report. Day started easy and variable, some snow falling down low, some filtered sun up high, nobody on the mountain except for the FreeRide competitors (and some of what I saw was big) and the Cancer fund ski, lost track of all those folks pretty early. Vis conditions in and out, but when it was in it was very happy – got good PB runs in the sun and also in the Valley at times. Early groomers were not as perfect as yesterday ( might have been the early vis issues), some freezing fog on my first run and a little wet fog in places early. But had to use the sunny goggle lens again today cause when it was bright it was very bright. Lots of heat-rays baking the slopes again today. My primo soft spring conditions line was Lucky Trees from the top! Very soft, steep enough and had rivers of mush sliding down the center – love that. Big FreeRide comp in the Pits was sad, but it was also pretty entertaining, watched for a short while and saw some big things from the Crested Butte and Tahoe kids (and I’m sure even the bottom group was ripping it better than I could) – bonus was getting to ride REX and watch some of it. Snow precip was falling pretty nicely when I left. Another “Da.mit Janet” pretty fine day. Some friends in the past would have called it a Screaming Flying Clawing Monkey kind of day, but those days are long gone.

Other – Soup was Ched Broc, the Taco Truck is finally set up at the base and doing big business (heard the party was pretty big yesterday evening for its opening), menu looked good, will have to check it out tomorrow. Pay lot got sort of mostly full and was reasonably sized when I arrived around 8am. Crowd was pretty not around, no lift lines, but C was pretty full when I left, B maybe 2/3’s, cars in D and E (clubs?).

Taco truck was OK. Had beef tacos with advocado and a Fanta. PNWBit( banned) had the same with a Mexican Coke.
My wife stole one of my tacos! :'(

Watched the Freeride kids for a while. My friend Oft's kids, (all three) are competing over the three days so they are staying at my cabin. The kids skied great and are humbling to watch.

Lower bull was slushy goodness by 3:00 PM.

PLEASE snow tonight!

For the most part didn't really start to soften up until noon.  PB and Braindamage were ok, a couple inches of new on top of set up smooth corn. Northway Peak was frozen chunder and pretty much stayed that way into the afternoon. By noon Paradise bowl was kinda soft, smoother and worthly of 3 laps.  Also Sunny Side wasn't too bad along about 2 PM.  Deerfly was also the corn mush  at 3 pm DDK references for LBR.

Lots of places I could push my pole through the crust on top into 18-24" of wet corn. That layer is going to get a lot thicker Sat night as temps drop way down overnight. Was snowing hard at the base when I left at 4.
