I picked up Jill at the Reno airport Saturday after she was skiing with her East Coast son and 3 grandsons at Wolf Creek, CO . It was another great sunny day with the temperature in the 50’s, no wind and sunscreen needed. Jill has been staying at 7000’ in Pagosa Springs, CO and was feeling great. She skied most groomed black terrain. I get a kick out of watching Grandma at 68 years old. Jill really enjoyed the groomers. We rode the Granite Chief lift, and there was a steep groomer that was fun. Gold Coast Funitel was closed but the Tram and Squaw One Express provided easy access to the upper mountain. We did 2500vf runs to the base before the groomers became mush. Between Siberian and Gold Express there are numerous terrain parks that are roped off but we found access. The skiers and boarders had a movie group, so we could make beautiful turns on groomers that were not used. After 3 hours, we’d had enough and skied to the van. A fellow was just finishing and asked us about our van. He had bought a Sprinter that he has worked on for skiing, touring, biking and climbing. He mentioned the amount of snow is light and he lives here. I mentioned the Cascade snowpack and gave him the TAY website. The forecast is for 1 to 2 feet Wednesday to Friday.
