Alpental Mar 3 (morning)

There were far too many people here for the awesomeness of the mank. Thursday-Friday rain cycle was thoroughly set up and frozen hard. New snow on top of chair two and on top of frozen chop ~ 12" +/- was nice but easily bottoming out on frozen mank everywhere. Mentally, I was not prepared to ski that with that level of crowd. Both B/C gates closed while I was there.

My assessment: consolidation of new to base, along with about 12" more of new will set up a nice new foundation, or go all-in Spring -Skiing and warm everyting up to corn skiing, that would work also.

Lots 1,2,3 full by 8:45 and lot 4 1/3 full. By 10 lot 4 full and starting to fill lower lot.
Did not check on soup of day or pay lot.

soup was beer and pay lot happy.

More people in the lots than on the hill....

Thanks all for filling in the Alpy blanks - parking, soup (beer? that always goes with the soup, I dont have to even pick up my own can at Crystal anymore, its waiting for me). I do want to get a few days in at Alpental...dang the up and down weather.

Fun was had, the right spots held great snow. I even gave up the last 2 hrs to go paragliding leaving Nash gate for everyone else when it opened. Jolly decent of me.

i may practice cinematography right there in the lot first.
