I moved the van from Squaw and the weekend cars, RV and buses to Alpine Meadows. There were no vehicles in the parking lot and it was quiet and I had Verizon and Virgin Mobile access. I parked 5 feet from the snow and 15 feet from getting on the Subway chair. I only had an hour to ski and then drive about 40 minutes to get to Reno for some work done and getting Jill at the airport. The runs off Roundhouse and Summit Express were getting softer but needed another hour. I rode Scott chair for access to Lakeview chair which was still firm. The best runs were from Sherwood Express which was in great condition at 9:30am. I rode with some folks that said the last big storm was December. I remember that a lot of rocks are visible. The Sherwood Express had groomers with rocks around. The groomers at Squaw Valley are much better than at Alpine. They are hoping for 1-2” on Sunday. Monday is supposed to be a sunny day. There is a forecast for 8-12” on Wednesday and Thursday. I get back to the van and the parking lot was full of cars all the way to the back of the lot. Squaw Valley owns Alpine Meadows and the talk is about interconnecting the two resorts.
