Bonus day for me, expected wet foggy lots of glove changes and goggle wipes, got nice warm dry some sun some fog lots of nice late April spring mush – not to mushy, just about the right mushy stuff for me. Only thing that would have made today better would have been the Coombas and warm spring wax on my skis. Arrived at 8:35 and jumped into a empty bucket at 8:50. No crowds, no lift lines, no buses, not many pay lot folks – I think most folks heard the 5am report and that just left more for me. After two very nice (better than expected smooth and perfectly done) groomers – Lucky and IceFerkBerg, I tried a late Door – pretty nice all in all – made me happy, so on to SunnySide, BreakOver, Memorial and many repeats in BearPits and OuterFerks (OF was probably the longest best since it was skied out a little more). Fog and clouds and sun came and went which pushed me around to different lines on REX. Did two runs through the Valley and out Kellys Gap to Lower E – both times nice. Never had the right timing on vis to do PB or High Campbell – so sad. Did K2 for my run back from CB lodge after checking the soup – K2 was great. Snow was getting pretty grabby and slow during the last hour I skied. Didn’t make the CD minimum for a really good day and didn’t make my minimum for time on the slopes, but I left after beating myself up on the slopes and having fun. Was pretty sunny when I pulled out and “very” warm. Will be brutal everywhere tomorrow if it gets cold enough tonight.
Other – Soup was Loaded Baked Potato, the White Choc Mac cookies were great as usual. Pay lot had some cars, but mostly ones with no permits, no buses, some cars overflowed into C lot and probably just employees in B lot.
