My daughter and I enjoyed a great day of true family style skiing at Loup Loup last weekend. Skiing there honestly leaves you feeling refreshed, and with renewed faith in the human condition insomuch as it overlaps with commercial ski area operations. Been there maybe 4 times now through the years and all the good things about it are remaining the same. Everybody's friendly. No lines. All the aspects of skiing eg grooming, the lifts, the base facilities are done up just enough so that the experience is totally satisfactory, but no hype, extra costs or corporate-overseer baggage. Love how their single lift gives you access to so many runs. They've cut the runs really wide too, reminds me of some Colorado areas.

Snow last Saturday had benefited from the inch or two that made it over the crest from all the footplus storms you all enjoyed last weekend, but you didn't really want to get off the groomed. Ridge (lookersleft) run had more ice and shave ice but all the others were a nicely groomed semisoft. Some thin spots in cover but should be able to run into mid March if they want to. Partly cloudy and stunning views into Columbia valley and over to the plateaus near the coulees, must be 100 miles+ of sightline from there. Day ended before we wanted it to.

Also did xc in the Mazama area, light new snow helped there too. Heartily recommend a side trip to Loup Loup for any westsiders finding themselves in the Methow and needing a reminder that lift skiing can actually be fun.
