February 26, 2013 Timberline

I usually park in the Timberline lot but the wind was crazy. Government was blowing but at 4000’ it was nice.  The 2000’ drive to the lodge in the morning was a chain event. It was a 2 for 1 day at Timberline. During the evening they received 4” plus everything that the wind pushed around.  They had Magic Mile, Jeff Flood and Stormin Norman Express lifts plus Pucci. I could see that the Magic Mile had open slopes that were wind scoured.  The rest of the lifts were in the trees and it was a powder day.  The terrain is great for me to practice powder turns. The sun was out and there was no wind. A could see today. I rode the lift with some guys my age and mentioned the terrain is milder then at Mt. Hood Meadows which gives you hours to ski powder with less competition. There were few snowboarders and I enjoyed the groomed terrain parks on the edges of the terrain.

Jill's on a trip and I had 3 powder days in Oregon at a slow pace. 

I just got to Tahoe and I'll be skiing Alpine Meadows and Squaw - we have passes. Sunshine and maybe some powder on Wednesday to Friday, maybe. Jill will be here in a couple days.
