Today was a very nice bonus day, expected high winds limited upper mountain access and very little new – got nuking puking heavy snow all morning, not much wind early, very light crowd, lots of deep light new snow (filling in tracks every run) – OUCH OH FUN! One of those days with to many options of where to go and not enough brain power to figure out where next, so kinda go into Hamster mode. Only thing that would have been better is if I had brought the Coombas for the morning, but I expected a inch or two on left over cut up pow, the AfterShocks did okay. Winds picked up around 11am, causing HC to go on a short wind hold – perfect timing to check the soup of the day and socialize with Spouse #1, then back outside just in time to hit HC with clearing conditions when it started loading again(still big gusty winds, but no lift impacts for the rest of the day). A little early afternoon sun allowed good vis conditions in GV Bowl and the open areas on the front side of REX. Pretty nice conditions everywhere I was from SnortElk bowl to Kelly’s Gap and lower E, to Memorial across through all the Doors and lots of Bearpit runs. Finished the day late with a REX Showtime run and then Upper and Lower E. Great day, felt cold late with the gusty winds. Should be a lot of nice snow tomorrow in hidden stashes.
Other – Soup was Creamy Tomato Basil Bisque (that’s a mouth full and the taste I got was pretty good). Pay lot not full, no buses (but plenty of space), some cars in C and B lots
