Feb 23-24, Snoqualmie was created by TomK
#21 – 2/23/13 – Scored the Hyak second chair at 0848 and the very nice 4-5 inches overnight made for great fun atop what appeared to have been groomed yesterday along with boot deepness for firsties over the first half dozen made for a great day. Maybe the best of the season so far. Virgin tracks in the trees are always a fun time. As the morning went on, the lower quarter got packed and tracked what with being warm enough to be just barely freezing so it started tossing the fatties around so we switched to narrower sticks for over lunchtime. Heavy overcast and snowing except for one brief sun patch after noon kept the new stuff piling up all day. Only a couple of over 5 minute lift waits, we love the H. TomK & Kerry

Indeed!
Caught the silver fir chair at the same time, and enjoyed the day at silver, golden nugget, and hidden valley and more at hayak! Some sun breaks bright enough for shadows, and snowing the rest of the time. What a great day!

We went up late morning and had fun on the silver fir and tripple 60 with mostly not much in the way of lines, and then transitioned to Alpental for several very nice powder laps on the Armstrong Express with no more than a few people ahead of us on each chair loading. We were surprised at how good it was up until our legs gave out at about 6 - the fact that it kept dumping certainly helped.

#22 - 2/24/13 - Everything just clicked this morning so we we got to be first in line at O-foolish-fifteen and hang out with the lifties while they got things ready to roll for first chair at 0850. Snow cover was creamy butter today with only couple of inches new over yesterday's consolidated stuff. It kept wizzing down freezing rain, so we called it early after taking just one ride on each of our usual runs. Never was much of a lift line front or back side. TomK and Karrie.

We had early runs also and found some freshies on the back side that were decent. Weather improved as the day went on and eventually became sunny spring-like on the front side. Haven't skied Hyak before- decided to avoid BC given the forecast. Skied some odd route that went along top of ridge then down skiers left at the big bend - honestly, the biggest mogals I've skied on tele boards. Linda wanted to do another lap as she thought it was great fun! No thanks, but a decent day with plenty of lift turns.

Good to hear sticking it out paid off later.  Sounds like sleeping in and starting at noon would have been a smarter way to go on our part.  :-)

Hard to envision your route without knowing which lift you started from.  Front or back?
"Big bumps" makes me think or Revelation on the backside, or Blowdown on the front, both of those are filled with "bumps" that are more like park features.
