Another day and lucky for us it was a whole lot nicer than yesterday, kinda tense early based on over night wind speeds, but we didn’t have any problems with that and most of the day had pretty nice vis, filtered early, sun late morning, a little fog in places at times after lunch and the clouds/fog/snow falling around 2pm got us off the mountain early. Groomers were screamer smooth and fast al day, since nobody goes skiing if there isn’t a foot of new, so the corduroy lasted into the afternoon in many places. Some heat softening on IceFerkBerg in the afternoon. Perfect wind grooming on PB made for fast smooth carving turns (could have stayed there all day but I was actually nice today). Lots of fun lines in BP’s and OuterFerks (finally got the entry line down today), plus big Secret slot (steep and soft)! Valley bowl had great vis and was lots of fun in the middle bumps and skiers right. Lower E had nice firm bumps. Snow quality on North facing slopes pretty nice, South facing kinda nasty from the few folks I saw that I was laughing at. No lift lines (other than maybe the bucket, actually rode it more than 3 times), no body on the slopes, nobody in the Pay lot, 3 buses, as usual all the rest of the cars in all the parking lots at Crystal could have been in the A lot except for the wasted Pay lot space. Soup was Minestrone, tried it today, okay, but will try something else the next time I actually have soup at CB lodge (oh and no heat at CB again today – ouch!).
