After to many days being responsible and wondering about conditions at Crystal, finally today we got to check things out for ourselves. Looked grey early, noticed that there had been some new late morning snow - nice. Jumped onto a bucket well before 9am (think I noticed loading at 8:45). Rode up through the cloud layer to very nice early morning filtered sun and great vis and wow look at that person throwing up snow on every turn. Don’t know what was the late report for over night snow, but found lots of untracked 4+ nice light new, even more in some places. Couple of early easy groomers on REX to start, but PB just kept calling. At 10:15 there were only two skied lines down the center of PB – they looked pretty nice even to me and they were mine (where was that camera today?). Nice sun till around 11:30 when the winds started to kick up. Made one more dash up HC for a PB lap just in case the bad weather was arriving. Winds did pick up and I got lucky to get one more PB run after a really great bowl of “CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP” for lunch – Yee Haa, HC went on wind hold for the rest of the day after my run. Spent the rest of the day doing high speed laps in BP’s with a few pokes into the Valley, Memorial (okay, but others would not have liked it much) and one of the last Doors (smooth, untracked and I was happy). Coverage on top of HC is better than last time I was up there. Crowd today was very very light. Great day all in all, glad I finally got to go. Wish I could go tomorrow - have fun.
Other – Pay lot was almost weekend big and almost completely empty most of the day, maybe 8 or so buses. All the rest of the cars (plus employees) could have filled the A lot if not for the wasted empty space. Got to talk to some guy named Lee? About the weekday pay lot. So we had to walk more than 20 ft to get to the lifts today – felt like a half mile again
