I got off work late around 4 and made it home a bit before 5. At some dinner with the girlfriend and then headed out in the rain to a what I was hoping be a fun night at Alpental. The roads were slick with rain on the way up from Issaquah, and by exit 42 I was still in the rain. Hopes were fading and rain turned to mix, then to snow. It was snowing so hard you got the feeling you were not moving in your car on the road.
Drove to Alpental lot, and smiled with the slush in the lot building up. Took my first chair up, and it was still coming down pretty hard. First run was pretty amazing on Julie's up top, then turned into a sticky strange snow after the last hill drop before the lift.
Met up with a friend and repeated the same stuff with tons of fun. Did pretty much all of the runs up there with conditions from hard crust and snow in the tree's, knee deep pow in some spots, tracked out pow in others with surprise moguls under them. After hitting up the slopes I went up to enjoy a beer and saw Mike from Pro Ski up there and bought a beer for him with his awesome work on my ski's! (Thanks Mike)
Drove home, passed out around 12:15 and up at 5 to go to work. I have a feeling I'll be repeating the same thing tonight minus the beer! Looks like 5 inches dropped last night with a lot more to come today.
