January 28, Silverfir at Central

Today was the most fun but I've had a Silverfir in years. There was 6 to 8 inches of new snow when we arrived at 8:30 and it had snowed about 4 to 5 inches by the time we left at 2 o'clock. This was truly one of the days where people kept saying "it just keeps getting better every run."
My only regret is that it's not Tuesday and that I wasn't Alpental. However, I shouldn't complain about damn thing. If the snow level stays down Alpental should be off the hook tomorrow.

Heh, I thought it was pretty good. Not epic, but decent. Still wee bits of blue ice to be found on the steeper areas, if you carve deep enough. Was certainly coming down healthy though (looked like mostly irregulars, plates, and columns) - good day for a bandana on the face! Tomorrow should be pretty rad at Alpental, though it's unlikely the gates will be open quickly (if at all?)

After laying some lines over Silver Fir, I took a few in Central Park because there is something to said about a forgiving pow-park day.

Oh the irony of it all.

It was awful today.
