Jan 26 th. Valle Blanche, Mont Blanc

We had to wait a day due to fog on Friday but Saturday was crystal clear. We got the second tram to the top.
Ridge walk was sphincter tightening and I gripped the rope handrail with both hands.
The skiing was very mellow and in great condition.
We were far quicker than we thought we would be and got the train back to Chamonix and met the girls for a jambon sandwich and a beer by 1:00 pm.
The views of mt Blanc du Tacul were mind blowing.

The ridge walk certainly focuses the mind.
We're on our way home but the skiing in Chamonix was a revelation to me. I'd been here before when I did the haute route but this time we got to explore the valley .
Can't wait to come back.

The last time I did the VB the ridge walk was icy on our day. Jill and I carried our gear and Kay had a person she met carry her skis.  A 2-3 week ski trip with two women was great.
