Gotten a little flack recently about to happy always the same reports – sorry, duh. So today – nice sun early, less new snow than hoped for, light early crowd (big huge early pay lot), GV Bowl somewhat firm – uh oh? (at least my first line, got better with repeats), IceFerkBerg pretty perfect smooth grooming and some pretty fast lines. PB looked good and finally yes we found out it was good, left side, right side, new snow, fast and smooth. Did a number of runs into OuterFerks and one run into BP’s (nice in spots, not so nice down low in the pits). Definitely shaded slopes and areas that got snow loading best (Hamburger and rope line off the Throne). Heard good things about lower E late in the day – missed that, soft almost warm. Fog/clouds/snowprecip from around 1pm on started making skiing challenging. Finally got me to leave early after helping one of many injured persons on the slopes today – looked like the Patrol was kinda busy today. Nice morning, not perfect but nice and a challenging afternoon. Another day for the Hamster.
Other info – Soup was Minestrone, lots of “new” foods at Campbell Basin lodge (the new pasta bar looks nice and simple but not cheap). Pay lot didn’t make it, lots of buses at 2:30, half full C lot and widely spaced cars in the B lot.
