Hit first chair at siver fir at 0855. Late start due to the lifties having to fill in a pit of doom offramp. Blue skies with some high wispy clouds and lots of sun. The crowd was pretty light so the runs down the great groomers were good and fast. Easy carving all day long made for only one bad turn all day.

Took off over to hyak once the ski schools started to show up at 1015 where again the crowd thinned out to a pleasant density. Found a couple of first turn stashes still untrammelled to enjoy but for the most part found the sunlit snow to be the most fun. Pole push test found surface hoar, then 3 of new fluff over another 2 to reach the half inch crust, then a good 6 atop a final 3 for a total compactable 15 on the flat. Ran out of water, so bagged it for a corndog at 1430 and a pleasant drive down the hill. TomK.
