Pretty nice day but a long day, rode CHex at 8:55am and jumped into a solo Gondy bucket ride at 3:20 (nice sunset happening at that point up top). Not many people showed up today, no noticeable lift lines. Lots of slopes that got much sun the last couple of days aren’t very pleasant anymore (lower parts of BP’s would not have enticed many repeats for lots of folks), not enough heat today to do much south face softening (only did Memorial a few times), IceFerkBerg was probably in the worst condition I’ve seen in a really long time. Powder Bowl was very popular, especially early afternoon when the northwest winds had refilled and re-wind groomed/smoothed the middle – ouch fast and smooth and nice! Worth many repeats. Rocks on top of HC are getting bigger and more plentiful. Any shaded slope was still holding up, any place that’s seen sun needs a lot of warm sun to make it happy again.
Other info – Since Spouse #1 was in an all day clinic, I decided to actually eat something at Campbell Basin – Chicken Teriyaki (very good), soup was as predicted Autumn Harvest Butternut Squash. Also had more time at the end of the day than usual, so I had a plate of Bacon wrapped Jalapenos with Pepper Jelly – ouch very good, haven’t ever spent time or had something to eat in the Bullwheel, pretty hopping spot late. Since we left the mountain so late I cant say much about the parking – but I’m sure the Pay lot was to big and not full. Ready to sleep in tomorrow.
