Crystal - 01/17

Another nice Hawaii kind of day at the beach, big sun, big warmth, big blue skies, big views, not big crowds – maybe even smaller than yesterday, great north facing styro again (PB, BP, GV Bowl, Hamburger), great mushy spring muck on the south facing slopes (HC and REX), happy people, more rocks on top of HC (ouch bad heading south). Quit extra early today as pointed out by others – still thinkin about seeing Plake up at the Pass this evening, would be fun, he is a kick. Fun day today, more fun tomorrow and sadly probably more sun fun for the Holiday weekend – darn it dang.

Other Info – Soup was left over FRTA (check yesterdays report) and heard they were thawing a block of Autumn Harvest What Ever for tomorrow – double dang, was planning on taking a lunch break tomorrow since it will be a long day. Pay lot marginally full, 6 buses, cars in the lots, but probably not many past the A lot.

Love the shirt. Did 10 runs in Campbell fall line around the lift and had great fun. Most of the day never saw another skier in the bowl. Amazingly warm. Was 10 degrees warmer on top than at my house in Gig Harbor!

Great north facers in the morning. Nice and soft in the sun after 11:00. Today was the first day that transitioned to too soft on the less skied-out sunny aspects. We skied boot top unconsolidated slop in The Doors after an "anonymous" recommendation. Lots of rocks cropping up (the top of Six is terrible) on the traverses and wilder lines. Get your silly-speed top-to-bottoms in early before Iceberg and the groomed bump up.
