Couldn’t ask for a better day what with the Seahawks playing and a lot of folks staying home to watch the game….hope they keep winning so I can ski more crowd free days.
Ski conditions report – Lots of sun early, no early crowd, had one great groomed run down IceFerkBerg (perfect) and that ended the groomer day for me. Couple of inches new and a lot more in some places. Did a number of runs in CBasin just before the Southback gate, very nice smooth and soft, then one run out past the low Throne gate, very nice and deep still out there (what was the Saturday crowd doing?). Did the typical multiple for me PB/BP runs. Didn’t seem to bad today getting off the top of HC – all that snow moving that Kim K was doing on Friday helped. Found out from someone that the last Doors were doable and yes they were. Suffered a run in Memorial and Sunnyside ( to pick up two beer cans I noticed), not to good skiing. Valley bowl skier right was still nice. Did more than one EH run for some other folks – yes it is good, soft, wide, and pretty fast and easy…but I had the wrong wax for I5 – about as sticky and slow as I’ve ever seen it. No lift lines anywhere all day. It was snowing a little when I left.
Other non ski conditions report for those that care – soups were Roasted Red Tomato Ancho (RRTA) and Harvest Butternut Squash (HBS). Pay lot did not make enough effort today, C full, B maybe 2/3s full. Very nice bonus day.

Did two warm up runs on Lucky shot and one run down Upper Bull that convinced me to go for a tour with PNWBrit and Chester Tartsnatcher.
Went Deep South to Crystal Lakes to Morse Creek to JBAS to FFF to Mt Boondoggle to Boondoggle to base.
Nice tour, got some variable snow, some OK snow and some really nice snow. Morse Creek has some of the biggest tree wells I've ever seen that have some snow bridging against the trunk= especially dangerous as even when skinning, the bridge collapsed leaving huge tree well hole below and you can't see it= be careful.
Run across an Avy course underway at JBAS after skinning up the backside. Mixture of hikers, skiers and snowshoers.
They seemed happy but one of them had yard sale(d) after forgetting to take skins off and launching. He'll remember next time= learning curve.
