Sally and I took a 10 day road trip from CO to Grand Targhee in WY, Bozeman and Big Sky, and then Yellowstone. Grand Targhee was outstanding with maybe 18 inches of lite powder over a soft but deep base (perfect skiing), blue skies, and very few people on Christmas Day and the day after. Got to test out my La Sportiva Hi5's and they ate it up.
Big Sky didn't receive the same amount but the area is great regardless. The on to Yellowstone for 2 days of x-country skiing in the park over NY's.
Crested Butte is building a base but its still a little thin. The BC is 'in' but there's a deep persistent slab lurking on many aspects.

Great road trip. Grand Targhee has been great a few times. I've found some great rocky terrain at times at Big Sky.
We are hoping to go to CO but he'll know in a few weeks.

Hey Zap, haven't met you in person, but read your posts... If you guys make it to SW CO, let me know.... Miles of scenic terrain here not to mention a cool little mountain town! Tony
