Nice day, a little cooler early, a lot windier on the ridge tops (plus it was from the southeast which is a bad direction for HC and getting soft spring slush on the front side of REX), lots of big views and blue skies, a lot smaller crowd, no lift lines on REX and small when I passed through FQex, no lines on HC since it was closed all day till around 2pm when it opened slow with lots of short stops on my first ride, did a second lap and it was just slow…PB was worth both trips, wind smoothed and carveable smooth and fast dropping fun, with the added bonus of a couple more Bearpit runs. East wind kept the front side from really getting nice and soft – almost in spots (REX chair line and over towards Memorial Forest). Most groomers that I did were nice and fast and carveable. Valley bowl skier right side was getting nice filled in snow from the winds – last run through there was kinda almost like skiing untracked pow around the bumps. Finished the big vert day (for me) on Exterminator – still can find soft snow most of the way down with nice big bumps at the bottom. Soup was AutumnButterNut left overs from yesterday…wonder what it tastes like? Havent seen a response from Gwen yet about the marriage proposal. Pay lot seemed to have cars in it. C pretty full and B had lots of widely spaced rows filling about 2/3 of the lot. Great fast running day.

The unfortunate ridgetop wind, even at 37 degrees, kept the top half of the sunny aspects un-fun frozen crunch. The lower half thawed for a short while between 11:00 and 1:30. Shaded slopes remained firm-but-fun bumps and were exempt from the sun bake. Except Green Valley Bowl where the wind-deposited crystalline snow transitioned it from smooth styro-bumps early on to even smoother bumps with filled in troughs. In need of a dump, it's shaded bumps, fast screaming groomed, or sunny frozen crunch.
