My daughter, Charlotte and I did our annual D&D Snoqualmie Enchainment today. Dumped our cache at Alpental and hopped the shuttle. Started at Hyak and moved our way north in increasing fog and crowds. Snow was good at all areas but the fog on Alpine vertigoed me and I wasn't impressed with that. By the time we got to West it was a little breezy and the fog was smothering (which is good since no one can see me ski) plus, PLUS the snow at the top had a heavy rime coat on it. Cool in a way. After making it to the base we noticed it was sunny at Alpy. So we checked out of the south side of I90 and hit Alpental. Despite a thin fog bank that kept moving around it was much sunnier and had good snow. The Cascade Traverse is certainly interesting, especially with the fresh refill of avy debris at the top of Meister. We were too lazy to head up Chair 2. We're up there enough we can afford to be slugs.
